FreeHistory and Hops: “I See Dead People” with Tom Campbell
Event Navigation
February’s History and Hops topic “I See Dead People” will be presented by Tom Campbell of Manzanita. This presentation will focus on how we remember our dead and the memorials and street names that were left behind in their honor. Tom will focus on the Nehalem VFW Cemetery where a number of our past local leaders are buried. He will share with us the impact of certain individuals and how they’ve impacted our towns, surrounding areas, and even the media.
Tom began his involvement with the Nehalem Valley Historical Society almost immediately after his arrival on the coast 10 years ago. He became President and is now the Executive Director. He is quite proud of their “little gem.” Visit nehalemvalleyhistory.org to learn more about Nehalem Valley Historical Society.
Preserving Seaside’s History since 1974, the Seaside Museum and Historical Society is a non-profit educational institution with the mission to collect, preserve and interpret materials illustrative of the history of Seaside and the surrounding area.
The museum is located at 570 Necanicum Drive, Seaside and is open Wednesday – Saturday, 11AM – 4PM.
