First Saturday Art Walk

The Seaside First Saturday Art Walk is a free event that takes place between Holladay Drive and Broadway Street in the Historic Gilbert District of downtown Seaside.

Blue Bond Gilbert District Gallery, 417 Holladay

With work fully rooted in the Northwest, Blue Bond’s specialty is portraits and wildlife. In the genre of art, Bond is a conventionalist. He elevates imagery by melding his reverence for the Northwest with his search for understanding of the world around him. With over fifty years of experience, the artist teaches one-to-one studio classes in oil to novices and experienced painters alike.

Shine Fair Trade, 609 Broadway St.

Featuring the tie dye fiber art fashions of Kathmandu from Berkeley, California. Established with a mission to expose the Nepalese culture and supporting child-free labor. Shine selects handmade items all over the world from 100 non-profits artisan cooperatives. Live music by Sedonna Torres.

SunRose Gallery, 606 Broadway St.

Introducing colorful alcohol ink florals by new artist Rosalie Kruissink, in addition to new felted portraits by Robin Montero, upcycle mixed media by Patty Thurlby and new shoulderbags by Steve Provo. Live music will be provided by guitarist David Crabtree accompanied on flute and sax by Ray Coffey, and tasty treats will be provided.

Pacific Heirloom Art and Collectables , 608 Broadway St.

Featuring sculptor Rich Wilcox, raised on the southern coast of Washington, who has collected glass floats since he was five years old. After losing his first spouse to cancer and finding therapy by working with his hands, Wilcox creates driftwood sculptures loaded with character with genuine antique fishing floats.

Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway St.

Opening reception for “A Fresh Start” featuring artists Toni Avery, Bill Baily, Karen Doyle, Christine Downs, Bob Heath, Dorota Haber-Lehigh, Gayle H. Seely and Bill Shumway. The exhibit’s expectation lies in its possibility to present fresh, new perspectives, inspiration, experiences, reflection and even the possibility for transcendence in some way. Artist lectures at 5:30 pm. Spring habitat talk by naturalist Neal Maine at 6:00 pm. LIVE music by Shirley 88.

Art-in-the-Loft at Beach Books, 616 Broadway St.

Featuring a mixed media showcase from artists, April Hoff and Debbi Wharton Estes, two Washington County artists who like to mix it up using collage, digital imagery, acrylics, alcohol inks, fabrics, clay and more to express their creativity. The range of pieces calls attention to the individual artist techniques, with much to capture an art enthusiast’s interest.

Seaside Yarn and Fiber, 10A N. Holladay Drive

Unveiling a new collection of handmade weavings. Intuitively crafted with wool roving, handspun yarn and other mixed media work will be available for sale and all will be on display for inspiration.

The Whet Spot, 12 N. Holladay Drive

Showcasing the art of Billy Lutz, one of Seaside’s most famous artists, who has painted in themes for thirty years, developing a philosophy of collectivism premised on the requirements of individual motive and other paradox. Lutz, a self-employed artist and sign painter, has provided for his family of five all his adult life. In addition, his work is available at from Portland Art Museum’s Online Collections.

Bliss Mercantile & Brocante, 735 Broadway

Featuring Chateau Chic Style-treasures for the home and garden that are a little bit French Country and a little bit Romantic Rococo.

Angi D Wildt Gallery, 737 Broadway St., #2

Featuring artists who are inspired by the reflections on the Oregon Coast shores and other bodies of water. This group show will include Dave Bartholet, Richard Burke, DC Yorksie, Ty McNeeley, Quata Cody, Angi D Wildt and Christine Kende who work in various mediums. Michelle Lindlom’s mixed media monotypes depict another kind of reflection, that of looking into the soul.

Westport Winery, 810 Broadway St.

Named one of the top 20 most admired wineries in North America by Winery & Vineyard Management Magazine, Westport Winery offers tasting of more than 34 award-winning wines and ciders.
