Celebrating 20 years in 2024, Seaside First Saturday Art Walk is a free event in the Historic Gilbert District between Holladay & Broadway in downtown Seaside.
Seaside Public Library, 1131 Broadway St.
A continuing show featuring North Coast art photographer Chris Villiers. After earning a degree in English literature and creative writing from the University of
Washington, Villiers worked as a print journalist. After a decade-long career crafting speeches and communication strategies for various corporations, he picked up a camera in 2017 and moved to Oregon.
The Whet Spot, 12 North Holladay Drive
It features Seaside resident abstract artist Kandy Schwartz, who recently created work highlighting her “fine-feathered friends.” The Whet Spot also features many other well-known local artists with exciting personalities. Patrons can enjoy craft beers, ciders, and wines in the newly expanded gathering room, which serves as a gallery wall for the artists.
Fairweather House and Gallery, 616 Broadway Street
The opening reception for ALL AGLOW is an exhibition that will focus on unique, one-of-a-kind gifts and works of art for the upcoming holiday season. It Features Seaside textile artist Cicely Gilman, artist-in-residence Vanessa K. Stokes, and vintage Chanel (™) jewelry creator and designer Renne Hafeman. In addition, the gallery offers a trunk showing of NW jewelry makers who deliver brightness and sparkle in a small package. The gallery provides a complimentary festive gift-wrapping service with each purchase. LIVE music by Seaside acoustic guitarist and singer Jason Lambert.
Pacific Heirloom and Collectibles, 608 Broadway St.
It features an encore collection and a sale of Spode Christmas dinnerware. The line is notably recognized for its underglaze transfer printing on porcelain, a technically more complex but much finer material than previously used on earthenware. Spode Bone China is named after its formula’s high proportion of ox bones.
Garden Gate, 608 Broadway Street
A new business is welcoming guests and Art Walk patrons. It features iron sculptures and clay statures suited for the North Coast climate. Aged moss and rust are embraced, as well as enamel-painted garden features and repurposed items. Introducing Briggs, the store’s cattle dog, as the latest neighborhood pet mascot.
Tommy G, 609 Broadway Street
Highlighting casual and upscale holiday clothing in the heart of the Kirwin Building. It is located directly opposite the Gilbert Block Building.
The restored commercial area in the heart of the Gilbert Historic District has some of the city’s oldest buildings and is home to shopping, restaurants, and services. It is two city blocks on Broadway, west of Highway 101.
