FreeHistory and Hops: Logging Oregon’s Coastal Forests
Event Navigation
History and Hops: Logging Oregon’s Coastal Forests presented by Lloyd Lindley. Logging has been a long-standing industry, especially in the Pacific Northwest, a celebrated trade for many folks. This presentation will focus on historic logging on our coastline, how it built communities, supported families, and changed our economy. Lloyd will share a video presentation compiled by local historian, Mark Beach, with the support of videographer, Carl Vandervoort. The video will also touch on how much the industry has evolved since its infancy.
Logging Oregon’s Coastal Forests is based on a book of the same title that Mark Beach authored and will be available for sale at History & Hops. A special thanks to Tom Campbell, executive director at Nehalem Valley Historical Society for helping us get our ducks in a row for this presentation.
We are happy to have the Seaside Public Library join us as a History & Hops this season.
