History & Hops: Bill Hall

BillHall(email)The next History & Hops lecture will take place on Thursday, March 31, 2016, at Seaside Brewing Company. Bill Hall, author of McCallandia: A Utopian Novel, will share insights about Tom McCall’s legacy and influence on Oregon state, as drawn from diary excerpts, interviews and oral history transcripts. McCall, who served as Oregon’s governor from l967 to l975, is best remembered for his quip encouraging outsiders to “visit but don’t stay.” However, his administration saw an unmatched record of accomplishment, especially in the environmental arena — the Bottle Bill, the Beach Bill, statewide land use planning and the cleanup of the Willamette River.

History & Hops is a monthly series of local history discussions presented by the Seaside Museum and Seaside Brewing Company. This event is free and open to the public.
