They can view artist demonstrations, listen to an artist talk or enjoy live performances in music. Introducing emerging artist Ashley Howarth, a OSU graduate with a BA in Fine Arts, whose life experiences have given her a deep appreciation for the Pacific Ocean. The artist pushes the boundaries of the mediums with art that draws in the viewer, as well as art that imagines a fantasy world where myths and legends come to life.  Since 2006 Fairweather’s has selected emerging artists who take risks, embrace challenges and are rigorous in their approach to creation and production, indeed, all have yearned to further their professional achievement through the gallery’s exhibitions.
Also introducing master artist Carolyn Macpherson who has taught art classes, as well as being active in the Washington State Arts Commission and who directed the SW Washington Arts Festival. Carolyn has served as an interpretive host at Smith Rock State Park in Oregon, using art to explain the region’s geology. She was commissioned to illustrate interpretative displays at the Visitor’s Center, as well as the signage for the park’s hiking trails and botanical gardens. Carolyn’s recent work features   regional birds who visit on a coastal fly way pattern.

Featuring the work of artist/philosopher Billy Lutz and gallery owner Lisa Scigliano, wife of Bill Lutz. “I need to look ahead I need to know what’s real.  I need to open up rather than conceal. The pendulum swings with haunting regularity,” writes Lutz. “Whatever it takes to shake lethargy, I’m all for it. Art is not here to make friends. It’s to open eyes and expand minds. It’s a matter of forcing people to open up their eyes and talk,” he writes.
