The Seaside First Saturday Art Walk is all about the arts. Visitors wander, meet artists, sip wine or sample appetizers by favorite restaurants or personal chefs. They can view artist demonstrations, listen to an artist talk or enjoy live performances in music. The art walk is held on the first Saturday of every month, 5:00pm to 7:00pm, at businesses, shops, boutiques and dining establishments located between Holladay Drive and Broadway in the historic Gilbert District of downtown Seaside with courtesy parking available on the corner of Holladay and Oceanway.
SunRose Gallery, 606 Broadway
The change of seasons brings us new work from Ronni Harris with Seaside-oriented quilted paintings ,ocean bird sand dollar mosaics by Mimi Cernyar Fox, and a new collection of gemstone jewelry featuring Roman glass by Susan Hildebrand. Upcycle mixed media artist Patty Thurlby will also be present for conversation about her art.
Fairweather House and Gallery, 612 Broadway
Opening reception for the exhibition Drama in Art. The featured artist will be Dr. Jo Pomeroy- Crockett. Also, Jan Shield, Professor Emeritus of Art at Pacific University, Forest Grove, with show his raku art that was created at Dancing Trees Sanctuary. Fairweather introduces Renee Rowe, who for many years directed art galleries in the Denver area and who relocated to the North Coast, as a new resident artist. Also showing will be Seaside photographer Linda Fenton-Mendenhall. Artist Paul Brent will offer a watercolor painting demonstration, his 2016 fall finale, and Rowe will offer an impasto oil painting demonstration. Also enjoy 2 Painting Seaside LIVE ™ episodes at Fairweather’s with light refreshments, LIVE music by Shirley 88 and patron gifts.
Beach Books in the Loft Gallery at 616 Broadway
Featuring for October a theme exhibit filled Colors and Light, from Dawn till Night with art from The Green Cab Collective, a synergistic alliance of diverse artists making and exhibiting. Green Cabbies artists will bring with them memories of the colors, warmth, and light of the past season.
Featured Artist is Jim Zaleski, an abstract-expressionist who loves color and whimsy. Other Cabbies participating in this exhibit are: Helvi Smith, Elina Zebergs, Jeff Hall, Amy Osborne, Barbara Martin and Anne Brown.
T. anjuli’s Gallery, 7 North Holladay Drive
Artist Billy Lutz is the owner/ resident artist. His art work focuses on what lays beneath appearances.
